?Municipalities Affairs received 1537 complaints, observations and proposals during the first quarter of this year, for the period from January 1 to March 31, through the national system of proposals and complaints (Tawasul)" Sheikh Eng. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs in the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning said.
He pointed out that " Municipalities Affairs transforms comments and proposals of citizens and residents into practical initiatives to increase the quality of municipal services."
He added, ?The number of complaints and observations in the capital?s council reached 366 complaints, the Muharraq municipality 193, the northern municipality 727 and the southern municipality 251?, explaining that ?the municipalities handled most of these complaints with a rate of more than 90%, except for complaints that have no direct relationship with the municipality or related complaints With other service providers. "
He added, "Most of the complaints received related to cleaning services and inspection and control services, as most of these complaints were dealt with and necessary measures were taken in this regard."
"There are 10% of complaints related to other service authorities, where they are dealt with jointly, and there are complaints that are not related to the work of municipalities and are transferred to the relevant authorities."
He pointed out that "the Tawasul program has increased the rate of positive interaction and communication with citizens and knowledge of their opinions and proposals in various municipal services, and has also contributed positively to raising their confidence in government services by improving their quality in accordance with international best practices."
The Undersecretary for municipalities Affairs called the citizens to send their observations on the performance of the municipalities on a Tawasul program, stressing at the same time that the municipalities affairs will follow up on complaints and observations of citizens across the system to take all necessary measures to contact them.
