The agricultural sector and the fisheries sector are two important elements that countries underpin in their efforts to achieve food security. The Kingdom of Bahrain has focused on these two sectors by developing a long-term strategy to develop these sectors. The Agriculture and Marine Resources in the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning seeks to present various initiatives that will develop these two sectors, which contribute to food security. At the level of the agricultural sector, several initiatives have been launched to develop the sector, including the development of agricultural laboratories at the Agriculture and Marine Resources, providing support to farmers with extension services, encouraging agricultural investment, and marketing to farmers through the permanent market farmers in Aali beside the seasonal farmers' market in Budaiya Botanical Garden. In the fisheries sector, the Agriculture and Marine Resources in the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning is providing the private sector with the opportunity to invest in fish farming projects. Agriculture and Marine Resources recently launched a training program in partnership with Tamkeen to train Bahraini cadres in fish farming. In the future, we seek to achieve the aspirations of the senior leadership in the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance the participation of agriculture and fisheries in achieving the comprehensive and sustainable development the Kingdom of Bahrain.
