In support of the initiatives of the National Action Plan to achieve carbon neutrality announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and in line with the kindness of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to launch the Tree Week to be held in the third week of October every year, Muharraq Municipality, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, planted a number of trees in Muharraq Grand Park, where a number of officials, employees and students from participating schools participated in the event.
The tree week comes to reinforce the results of the afforestation plan, which aims to double the number of trees to 3.6 million by 2035, in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitments to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
