Cooperation Committee holds its Eighth Regular Meeting

The Cooperation Committee between the four municipal councils and government agencies held its eighth regular meeting, chaired by HE Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture. During the meeting, several common topics and various service-related projects were presented and discussed.

The Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture emphasized the importance of the existing cooperation between government entities and the municipal councils in implementing high priority plans and programs, noting the commitment to continue efforts within an integrated framework to achieve the desired goals and aspirations.

HE the Minister highlighted the role played by the four municipal councils in the process of development and construction, stressing the importance of enhancing coordination and continuous communication with the municipal councils to ensure the smooth progress of projects and services in line with the planned frameworks.

He also emphasized the significance of the committees’ meetings in overcoming challenges and discussing the visions and ideas of the municipal councils with other ministries to serve the community and achieve the public interest.

Representatives of the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture reviewed several service projects in the Northern and Southern Governorates. While the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, HE Engineer Sheikh Mishaal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, also presented an overview of road projects, sewage projects, and the latest updates on several infrastructure projects currently underway throughout the Kingdom’s governorates.

HE Dr. Lulwa Rashid Shuwaiter, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health, provided a presentation on ongoing projects and future plans, including the Health Insurance Fund project (Shifa).

During the meeting, Mr. Abdulaziz Al N’aar, Chairman of the Muharraq Municipal Council, presented a report on the progress of community service requests.

For their part, the heads of the municipal councils expressed the importance of this regular meeting in discussing common issues and service projects, contributing to enhanced cooperation between the municipal councils and the service ministries, and emphasizing continued joint coordination that reflects the citizens’ aspirations in government programs and projects.
