Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Welcomes Head of UN-Habitat Country Programme in Bahrain on Completion of Her Term

His Excellency Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture, welcomed Mrs. Fernanda Leonardoni, Head of the UN-Habitat Country Programme in the Kingdom, on the occasion of the conclusion of her term in Bahrain. His Excellency Engineer Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of Municipal Affairs was also in attendance.

During the meeting, the Minister commended the fruitful and constructive cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, which has resulted in numerous significant achievements in sustainable urban development. He highlighted the areas of collaboration between the ministry and UN-Habitat, emphasizing that the Kingdom of Bahrain places great importance on sustainable development as a fundamental pillar of its overall development strategy. The Minister also wished Mrs. Fernanda Leonardoni continued success in her future endeavors and expressed his sincere gratitude for the efforts she has dedicated during her tenure in Bahrain.

For her part, Mrs. Leonardoni praised the notable progress witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain in sustainable urban development, expressing her gratitude to HE the Minister for the collaboration with the programme throughout her time in Bahrain. She also wished the Kingdom continued success in its plans aimed at sustainable urban development.
