Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Signs MoU with Batelco to Enhance Digital Infrastructure
The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Batelco, a subsidiary of the Beyon Group, aimed at developing, evaluating, and implementing solutions that strengthen digital infrastructure in the areas of connectivity, voice communications, smart security, and digital signage. The signing took place on the sidelines of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit & Exhibition 2025, organized by the Ministry with broad local and international participation.
On this occasion, His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, stated that the MoU contributes to reinforcing cooperation between both parties toward the advancement of a comprehensive digital infrastructure. He noted that the agreement will facilitate the provision of technical expertise and innovative solutions to enhance the ministry’s connectivity systems, as well as offer assessments and recommendations for improving voice communication systems.
For his part, Eng. Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs, emphasized that the MoU will help channel efforts toward providing technical expertise and innovative solutions to bolster the ministry’s communication infrastructure. He praised Batelco’s efforts and commitment to sustainable development, underscoring the MoU’s role in advancing comprehensive digital infrastructure to support a sustainable society.
Meanwhile, Mr. Meetham Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Batelco, commented: “Through this MoU, we look forward to strengthening cooperation in the field of digital infrastructure and exploring new opportunities in related systems and technologies.”
Mr. Abdulla Danish, General Manager of the Commercial Sector at Batelco, added: “Through this partnership, Batelco will deliver a comprehensive suite of digital solutions, including advanced connectivity and voice communication services, aimed at enhancing the ministry’s operational efficiency and improving the quality of municipal services. Batelco will also provide the necessary technical expertise and support to further strengthen the ministry’s capabilities. The partnership will additionally include the provision of advanced smart city infrastructure solutions, paving the way for more developed and innovative cities.”
