Municipal Council Chairmen: Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025 Promotes the Adoption of Modern Technologies in Municipal Work
The Chairmen of all four Municipal Councils emphasized the vital role of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025 in advancing sustainable smart cities and providing a key platform for sharing successful experiences and applying them within Bahrain’s municipal sector to support future development.
In this context, Engineer Saleh Taher Tarada, Chairman of the Capital Municipal Council, praised the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit for its contribution to strengthening municipal operations in Bahrain, particularly through the integration of artificial intelligence technologies across key areas such as sanitation, urban planning, parks and walkways, monitoring and inspection activities, and the issuance of permits.
Tarada explained that the summit and its accompanying exhibition provide a platform for sharing success stories in the fields of smart cities, urban innovation, and sustainability. Through these experiences, cities in Bahrain can be further developed, offering more advanced services across various aspects of urban development and accelerating the adoption of smart solutions that serve cities and citizens alike.
Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim Abdulatif, Chairman of the Southern Municipal Council, emphasized the significance of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit and its positive impact on enhancing service levels through the integration of artificial intelligence and the introduction of technological solutions that expedite and simplify procedures.
Mr. Abdulatif also praised the efforts of the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture in organizing the summit, which brings together numerous successful experiences in the fields of smart cities and artificial intelligence. He highlighted its importance in strengthening the infrastructure of cities within the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sayed Shubber Ibrahim Al-Wadaei, Chairman of the Northern Municipal Council, highlighted the importance of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit in supporting successful experiences and showcasing Bahrain’s achievements in sustainable development and the utilization of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in service delivery. Dr. Al-Wadaei pointed to the critical role of the Northern Municipal Council in supporting these valuable initiatives and in offering innovative visions and proposals in the service and development sectors. He expressed hope that the summit's outcomes would contribute to proposals aimed at enhancing the public service system and achieving sustainability within residential cities, thereby reinforcing the impact of sustainable city goals within modern urban projects and achieving the objectives of sustainable development.
For his part, Mr. Abdulaziz Ahmed Al-Naar, Chairman of the Muharraq Municipal Council, stated that participation in the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit aims to benefit from regional and international experiences in incorporating artificial intelligence into cities in Bahrain. He emphasized that the research papers presented at the summit open up new horizons for the development of smart cities and sustainable infrastructure. Al-Naar also noted the commitment of the Muharraq Municipal Council to employing modern technologies in improving municipal and other services, contributing to facilitating procedures and achieving sustainability.
