Undersecretary of Municipal Affairs: Streets of Bahrain Adorned with Lighting in Celebration of National Holidays
The streets, landmarks, and intersections of the Kingdom of Bahrain have been adorned with red and white lighting in celebration of the Kingdom’s National Day. The National day holidays commemorate the founding of modern Bahrain as an Arab Muslim state in 1783 under its founder, Ahmed Al-Fateh, and also mark the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s ascension to the throne. The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has finished decorating the main streets, squares, and roundabouts with Bahrain's national flags and decorative lighting.
The Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Eng. Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, announced that decorative lighting has been installed on trees, brightening main streets, roundabouts, and intersections across the Kingdom. He expressed his sincere gratitude to all contributors and supporters of this national celebration, highlighting their role in reflecting the true Bahraini spirit.
The Undersecretary also explained that the Capital Municipality has adorned numerous trees along King Faisal Highway and Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway, with seasonal flowers planted at intersections to enhance their beauty. Furthermore, the Muharraq Municipality has decorated the main streets with lights on trees along Khalifa Al Kubra Garden, Airport Avenue, Hidd intersections, Sheikh Isa Bridge, Sheikh Hamad Bridge, and various other locations within the governorate.
The Northern Municipality also decorated several locations, including the entrance of Saar on Avenue 13, the southern entrance to Hamad Town, the Salmabad Intersection, the Janabiya Intersection, the entrance to King Fahd Causeway, and A’ali Walkway.
Regarding the efforts of the Southern Municipality, the Undersecretary noted that several main streets were decorated, including Zallaq Highway, Wali Al Ahd Highway, Riffa Avenue, and Bu Kuwara Avenue. Key locations such as the Clock Roundabout, Abu Dhabi Roundabout, Isa Town Gate, and Eastern Riffa Market were also adorned, along with the main building of the Southern Municipality.
The Undersecretary expressed his gratitude for the municipalities' efforts in enhancing the beauty of streets, intersections, and public squares, imbuing these areas with a distinctive charm that reflects the spirit of the national holidays throughout the month of December.
