An overview of the municipal councils
Municipal councils are among the reform projects launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The year 2001 was the beginning of Municipal Council work. Decree-Law No. 35 of 2001 was issued in May 2002, the first municipal elections were held, and thus 18 years have passed since the municipal experience, which was full of challenges and aspirations.
