Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs Discusses Cooperation with FAO Experts
Eng. Asim Abdulatif, Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs and Animal Wealth, met with a delegation from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The delegation included Ms. Fidaa Haddad, Senior Forestry Program Officer at the FAO Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa, and Dr. Waleed Hassan Abu Al-Hassan, Senior Natural Resources Officer at the FAO Subregional Office for the GCC and Yemen.
During the meeting, the Undersecretary reaffirmed Bahrain’s support for the FAO’s efforts in vegetation development and agricultural production. He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening agricultural and livestock related cooperation with the organization, particularly in projects aimed at advancing food and agricultural development, afforestation initiatives, and benefiting from the FAO’s expertise in these fields.
The FAO delegation commended Bahrain’s leading role in working with the organization and presented several upcoming projects for the region, including initiatives in Bahrain.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Mohammed Al-Oraibi, Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs; Eng. Jaafar Al-Tajer, Director of the Local Agricultural Production Department; and several ministry officials.
