Summary of the thirteenth regular Northern Municipal Council meeting From the first round of the sixth municipal session 2022-2026

 

The Municipal Council of the Northern Region held its thirteenth regular meeting of the first session of the sixth municipal session 2022-2026 today, Monday, May 29, 2023, in the council building in Budaiya, headed by Dr. Sayed Shubar Ibrahim Al-Wadaei, and the presence of the members of the Council, and His Excellency the Director General of the Municipality of the Northern Region, Eng. Lamia Al-Fadhala.

 

His Excellency the Speaker of the Council opened the session by praising the Hayyakom program, which stressed the feasibility of the effectiveness of its objectives in presenting programs and topics and addressing issues that touch the concerns and demands of citizens.  His Excellency also touched  on the Sawaeed program, which began its first activities with the afforestation campaign, which included Barbar Park and the vital street in the village of Buri, through the planting of 350 seedlings,  which was organized in cooperation with the Northern Region Municipality and with the participation of Friends of the Gardens, Clean Up Bahrain Society and a number of social work activists.

 

HE the President stated that the Council has submitted its practical views on the service and development projects that should be completed, and the Council looks forward to speeding up the approval of the financial budget for the fiscal years 2023-2024 to enable the executive authorities to complete the agreed projects, especially infrastructure projects, including sewage and road projects to provide a healthy livable environment.

 

The Council also made a number of recommendations that directly affect the needs of citizens, as it recommended the approval of a number of proposals as follows:

 

  1. Recommendation on the  practice of arts and sports activity in the Markh region 529.
  2.  A proposal to adopt seals on all slaughtered animals as a condition of public health.
  3. Lawzi Lake Development Proposal.
  4. Proposal to establish a marine fuel station in Budaiya Port 552.
  5. Proposal to establish veterinary quarries at the ports of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
