Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Oversees Rainwater Drainage Efforts in Several Areas
His Excellency Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, conducted an inspection tour of several areas across various governorates in the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the tour, he reviewed the efforts of the emergency response team in addressing rainwater accumulation, ensuring the efficient drainage of collected water in coordination with the four municipal councils. The Minister was accompanied by Engineer Mohammed Saad Al-Sahli, Director General of the Capital Municipality, along with several ministry officials.
The Minister highlighted the role of municipal councils in supporting efforts to manage rainwater accumulation, emphasizing the ongoing coordination with council members in their respective districts to address existing accumulations and set priorities, thereby contributing to mitigating the issue.
Minister Al-Mubarak reaffirmed that the emergency team is on duty around the clock across all governorates, having initiated operations from the onset of rainfall to ensure safe movement within neighborhoods and residential areas.
He also stressed the continued coordination and collaboration among all relevant entities, including the Ministry of Works, the Electricity and Water Authority, the General Directorate of Civil Defense, the General Directorate of Traffic, and municipal councils, to minimize the impact of rainfall.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has allocated a dedicated hotline (80008188) for reporting rainwater accumulations on internal roads.
