Shaikh Abdullah Bin Khalid Alkhalifa

Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa was born in 1922 and died in June 2018. He was one of the main contributors to the construction of the modern state of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Sheikh was one of the prominent scientific, cultural and literary figures in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In 1954 he established the first public library, “ Al – khailfiyah library”.
After the declaration of Bahrain as an independent state and the formation of the Council of Ministers in 1971, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa joined the first Bahraini government. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Municipalities until 1975, after which he served as Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs in the Second Government of Bahrain, and he held a number of positions thereafter.
In 1987, he was assigned the task of founding and chairing the Center for Historical Documents, which includes more than 70,000 historical documents on Bahrain.
