Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Visits Bahrain Society of Engineers
HE Eng. Wael Bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, stressed the important role played by the Bahrain Society of Engineers in the advancement of construction and urban development being witnessed in the country. HE discussed the joint projects that bring together the Ministry and the Society, citing the Society as an essential partner representing an important professional sector and including an elite group of specialists and consultants. HE also stated that the Society is renowned for its long history in the engineering profession.
His Excellency’s statement came during a visit made to the Bahrain Society of Engineers’ headquarters located in Juffair where he was joined by HE Eng. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of Municipalities Affairs, and a number of ministry officials. The Ministry’s representatives were received by Dr. Raida Al-Alawi, President of the Bahrain Society of Engineers along with members of the Society’s Board of Directors.
During the visit, the Minister emphasized the importance of the role played by the Bahrain Society of Engineers in refining the skills and capabilities of engineering graduates in the Kingdom of Bahrain, calling on engineers to enroll in and benefit from the Society’s activities and programs. HE also discussed current and future joint ventures and various topics of common interest.
For her part, Dr. Raida Al-Alawi, President of the Society of Engineers, welcomed the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and ministry officials to the Society referring to the Society as the “Home of Engineers”, and praised the existing cooperation between the Ministry and the Society.
Al-Alawai expressed her appreciation for the Ministry’s support in activities and functions carried out by the Society, announcing her hope to continue receiving this support in future conferences and exhibitions. She stated the importance of supporting the Society’s efforts through the Ministry’s participation particularly in matters relating to training conducted by the Society’s accredited training center which works to provide specialized professional programs and courses designed to achieve common goals. Al-Alawi also stressed the positive effect and impact of the existing cooperation between the two entities in advancing the engineering profession and the engineering sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Finally, she expressed her gratitude to the Minister and the ministry’s officials for their confidence in the Society’s competency and ability to contribute to the implementation of a number of programs that the Ministry aims to execute in the near future through coordination and cooperation with the Society.
